Youth Pathways (Year-Round)
This program is more than just job training — it’s about giving you the tools, confidence, and support to build a future full of opportunities and independence. With industry-specific skills, personalized mentorship, and expert career guidance, you’ll be ready to compete in today’s job market and reach your goals.
You’ll get education support through tutoring, diploma completion, and preparation for college or other postsecondary programs. Along the way, you’ll build career readiness through paid work experience, hands-on training, and guidance on in-demand jobs in your community.
The program also helps you grow life and leadership skills by connecting you with mentors, building financial know-how, and giving you opportunities to take on responsibility. And with personal support like counseling, resources to keep you on track, and follow-up after the program, you’ll never be alone on your journey.
Opportunity Youth (Spring Season)
Opportunity Youth is a paid internship program that gives young people 115 hours of work experience, professional development, and access to support services to help them move forward. This program is part of the Opportunity Youth Year Round Youth Employment and Learning Program and is funded by Capital Workforce Partners (CWP).
Through this program, you’ll get:

✅ Job placement – Get matched with an employer to build your resume.
✅ Professional development – Learn workplace skills to prepare for your career.
✅ A potential job offer – Some participants are hired by their placement employers, while others walk away with valuable experience to pursue similar jobs.
On-Ramps 2 Infrastructure (O2I)
On-Ramps 2 Infrastructure (O2I) is a FREE occupational training program, in the fields of Manufacturing, Construction, Carpentry, and Culinary to justice-involved youth ages 18-24, using the I-BEST contextualized learning model.
The On-Ramps 2 Infrastructure (O2I) job program serves Justice-Involved youth. Justice involvement means that you must have previously been arrested or have had any engagement with the criminal justice system.
Eligibility Information
- 18 years or older
- Eligible to work in the U.S.
- Live in the North Central region of CT

United Way 211 - Connecticut
211 is a free, confidential information and referral service that connects people to essential health and human services 24 hours a day, seven days a week online and over the phone.
211 is fully certified in crisis intervention by the American Association of Suicidology and is certified by InformUSA. InformUSA is the professional association for over 1,200 community Information and Referral (I&R) providers.

Young Legends
Young Legends works to educate and connect youth and young adults ages 16-29 to quality employment opportunities and resources. Hosts programs and training focused on leadership, empowerment, advocacy, and personal and professional development. Includes a Leadership Academy, a 10-week long program that provides up to 25 Hartford young adults with skills and tools to help them thrive in the workforce and beyond.
North Hartford Ascend
CTData Collaborative designed this tool to display North Hartford Ascend providers on a street map and allows users to interactively filter information by service category to efficiently access services for their families. The need for a tool like this was identified by both residents living in North Hartford as well as project partners. Data on resources and services from 211 Connecticut are available in this tool through an ongoing partnership with United Way of Connecticut.

She believes that true healing begins with nurturing the mind, body, and spirit—and she’s committed to making holistic health resources accessible to all.
Nestor Garcia
Program: Youth Pathways (WIOA Youth)
Provider: Hartford Public Library
Grateful for the support he received, Nestor returned to Hartford Public Library’s (HPL) IT training program to volunteer on his day off to guide and mentor students through their study and exam preparation. He is a natural and gifted teacher and a source of inspiration to HPL’s continuing IT students.
Sage Johnson
Program: Dual-Track CNA Training
Provider: Bloomfield Public Schools
Sage Johnson is a great example of the success of the Bloomfield Dual Track CNA Program. When she first joined, she was uncertain about her career path but had a strong interest in healthcare. Despite facing significant challenges, Sage remained determined, balancing her schoolwork during the day with CNA training in the evening.
