A Statewide Partnership for TDL

About Capital Area Transportation, Distribution, & Logisitics Partnership

Launched in 2022, the Capital Area Transportation, Disitrbution, & Logisitics Partnership, commonly referred to as both “CATDLP”  and “TDL Partnership,” is the only one of its kind in Connecticut and brings together businesses from the industry to strengthen the economic viability of the TDL industry in the region. This partnership is business-led, with a steering committee comprised of representatives from Lily Transportation, DATTCO, Domino’s, Bozzuto’s, S&S Worldwide and the Connecticut Concrete Promotion Council.

CWP convenes this partnership in coordination with other economic development, workforce, and education organizations at the regional and state levels.

CATDLP Action Teams include:

Industry Promotion and Career Awareness: Advancing strategies to connect underrepresented groups to career opportunities, including women and youth, while addressing stigmas commonly associated with work in these industries. The group continues to seek out opportunities to be in front of the public by attending events to inform about the career pathways in this industry, hold recruitment events, open houses, meet and greets and putting together a PowerPoint presentation accessible to anyone interested in using it.

Workforce Development: Creating opportunities and resources for training new staff and upskilling existing workers to take on leadership roles. The group continues to collaborate with each other in three key areas, Pre-hiring, On-boarding and Post Onboarding, and their goal is to create some video content highlighting what a day looks like in this industry.

Policy: This effort is now a shared responsibility between the Industry Promotion action team and Workforce Development one to raise any policy related issues to the policymakers through either MTAC or DOT.

Our Region: All of Connecticut

The Capital area Transportation, Distribution, and Logistics Partnership (CATDLP), despite it’s name, serves all of Connecticut’s TDL Sector employers and jobseekers—reflecting the reality that this sector operates without regional boundaries. From highways and rail lines to ports, airports, and transit systems, TDL is the connective infrastructure that links every corner of the state.

The workforce mirrors this connectivity. TDL workers routinely move between regions, job sites, and transportation hubs—whether driving routes that span the state, supporting logistics operations across multiple facilities, or ensuring transit systems run efficiently. This high level of mobility is essential to keeping supply chains functioning and businesses operating.

By nature, the TDL sector unifies Connecticut’s regional economies into a single, interdependent system. The Partnership’s statewide approach ensures that employers, training providers, and jobseekers are aligned across regions—supporting a coordinated workforce that keeps Connecticut moving and growing.
