About Capital Area Healthcare Partnership

The Capital Area Healthcare Partnership (CAHP) launched in December of 2022 with the primary goal of working collaboratively to improve healthcare in the Capital Region by bringing together healthcare providers to collaborate in tackling shared challenges and strengthening the economic healthcare industry in the region.

This partnership is being driven by healthcare leaders from across acute, post-acute, primary care, long-term care, home health, behavioral health, and other providers.

Capital Workforce Partners and the Connecticut Health Council are the co-convenors, facilitating coordination with other economic development, workforce, and education organizations at the regional and state levels. The partnership is being modeled off other regional sector partnerships active across Connecticut and around the country.

The Partnership’s Misson

To increase the stability of the healthcare industry as a critical economic driver and improve outcomes through collaborative strategies. The partnership runs on four operating principles.

The members agree to:

  • Build synergy, not siloes
  • Leverage, not duplicate
  • Increase communication driving effective action
  • Get things done!

Our Region: North Central/Greater Hartford

The North Central/Greater Hartford region boasts a thriving environment for business development, particularly in healthcare, with leading companies and institutions making significant strides in the industry. The area is home to renowned organizations in healthcare and related fields, supported by a dynamic urban core and the Hartford Chamber of Commerce. The presence of top-tier educational institutions such as Trinity College, the University of Hartford, Central Connecticut State University, the University of St. Joseph, and UConn Hartford further strengthens the region’s healthcare sector by fostering a highly educated workforce, one of the most skilled in the nation.
