Senator Blumenthal Meets with Capital Workforce Partners Jobs Funnel Leaders

Senator Blumenthal visited Capital Workforce Partners Job Funnel Program in August to discuss apprenticeship and infrastructure issues.  Alex Johnson, President & CEO of Capital Workforce Partners spoke of the success of workforce development apprenticeship and job training programs to support middle skills training to meet employer needs.  In particular, Alex highlighted the success of the Jobs Funnel’s partners, including the Greater Hartford-New Britain Building Trades (GHNBT), supporting pre-apprenticeship opportunities for hundreds of job seekers a year particularly in construction training and employment.  Board Members Joe Toner, President of the GHNBT, and Mike Konmari, along with many other representatives of the Union trades were in attendance to speak to the important role that registered apprenticeship programs play in getting people into good jobs.
