This Youth Pathways program is more than just job training — it’s about giving you the tools, confidence, and support to build a future full of opportunities and independence. With industry-specific skills, personalized mentorship, and expert career guidance, you’ll be ready to compete in today’s job market and reach your goals.

You’ll get education support through tutoring, diploma completion, and preparation for college or other postsecondary programs. Along the way, you’ll build career readiness through paid work experience, hands-on training, and guidance on in-demand jobs in your community.

The program also helps you grow life and leadership skills by connecting you with mentors, building financial know-how, and giving you opportunities to take on responsibility. And with personal support like counseling, resources to keep you on track, and follow-up after the program, you’ll never be alone on your journey.

Forge City Works (FCW) provides employment and youth career services for young adults aged 18-24, specializing in culinary training.

Participants develop skills through internships, vocational training, resume building, and interview preparation, with possibility of being certified in ServSafe Food Handler, Allergen, and Alcohol.

Hartford Public Library

Hartford Public Library (HPL) provides employment and youth career services for young adults aged 18-24, focusing on skill development, career readiness, and internships. Programs are geared toward careers in Information Technology, with participants working toward a CompTIA A+ Certification.

Additional services include internships, vocational training, resume building, and interview preparation.

Nestor Garcia

Program: Youth Pathways (WIOA Youth)
Provider: Hartford Public Library

Grateful for the support he received, Nestor returned to Hartford Public Library’s (HPL) IT training program to volunteer on his day off to guide and mentor students through their study and exam preparation. He is a natural and gifted teacher and a source of inspiration to HPL’s continuing IT students.

Sage Johnson

Program: Dual-Track CNA Training

Sage Johnson is a great example of the success of the Bloomfield Dual Track CNA Program. When she first joined, she was uncertain about her career path but had a strong interest in healthcare. Despite facing significant challenges, Sage remained determined, balancing her schoolwork during the day with CNA training in the evening.
