Hartford, CT, November 6, 2018 — Capital Workforce Partners’ President & CEO Alex Johnson announced the appointment of Kimberly Staley as Capital Workforce Partners’ Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) effective November 30th, 2018.
In the Chief Administrative Officer role, Kimberly Staley will be part of the executive leadership team and an active participant in making strategic and managerial decisions affecting the organization. In support of the President/Chief Executive Officer, the CAO is ultimately responsible for all aspects of CWP’s administration, compliance, and accountability functions, including Finance/Accounting, Information Systems, Facilities, Monitoring, Data Collection/Analysis and Contracts.
In her most recent position as the Chief Administrative Officer for the City of Bridgeport, Connecticut, Ms. Staley managed and provided administrative oversight for the City of Bridgeport, which has a of budget of approximately $565 million and a staff of over 2000 employees. Ms. Staley utilized her skills to direct 15 major departments including the Police Department, Fire Department, Finance, Public Facilities, OPM, Labor Relations, Economic Development and Health and was able to bring a fresh approach to the challenges facing Bridgeport, the largest city in Connecticut.
Ms. Staley is a nationally recognized workforce development and career education professional with a track record for delivering customer-oriented services with quantifiable results in the most challenging conditions. She has developed a reputation as a respected leader with a knack for fostering collaboration and encouraging the engagement of partnering agencies and stakeholders to deliver high-quality workforce development services for State and Federal contracts in South Carolina, Virginia, California, Florida and Connecticut.
Ms. Staley served as Vice Chairperson on the executive committee and was also the Membership Committee Chair for the National Association of Workforce Development Professionals (NAWDP). Ms. Staley received a Bachelor of Arts from Howard University, a Masters in Workforce Education and Development, from Southern Illinois University and continued her studies in the Doctorate in Organizational Leadership program at the University of Maryland.
