HARTFORD, CT, February 11, 2019 Capital Workforce Partners (CWP) is pleased to announce that it has been selected to receive funding from the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving (HFPG) to further strengthen the regional workforce development system. The funding will support a newly redesigned CWP website and provide the staff with additional technology training.
The CWP website redesign will enhance CWP jobseekers and business partners to access real-time workforce development services and resources. The technology update will improve the look and feel, expand capacity, enhance capability, and improve the ease of use of the website. Over the next year, CWP expects to connect with over 70,000 stakeholders by creating a modern, appealing, easily navigated website that will attract employers and engage job-seekers.
Capital Workforce Partners President and CEO, Alex Johnson says, “The improved website will make it easier and faster for prospective employers to find the resources they need to grow and prosper. The more intuitive design will support job seekers by simplifying the effort needed to connect to the training and resources they need to become part of a skilled workforce.”
This staff development initiative will establish target technology competency levels for all system users and will create and implement a training program designed to achieve those targets. The increased capacity will ensure that the staff are able to effectively leverage technology to deliver services to job-seekers and will also help them to maintain strong relationships with employers by understanding the skill demands of the labor market.
Mr. Johnson goes on to say, “CWP has already made significant investments in technology in the past year. The generous funding from the Hartford Foundation of Public Giving will enable CWP to maximize the return on this investment by providing the people who use the technology with state-of-the-art training. This training will lead to increased capacity and better service to job-seekers and employers.”
