Angella came to the American Job Center (AJC) as a participant in the Jobs First Employment Services (JFES) program. The AJC provided her with assistance to receive her CPR Certification, Guard Card Certification and License. The AJC also assisted Angella with the Adult Driver’s Safety course. Angella earned her driver’s permit and she is working to obtain her driver’s license.
She has held many different jobs, but always wanted to be a Security Guard. When her Career Agent presented her with the opportunity to get her Security Guard License, she was very motivated to complete the course. Angella secured employment because of this training. As a single mom she is trying hard to become independent and have a job she loves.
Angella was able to obtain her Security Guard License and First Aid and CPR Certification. Angella currently has a full-time job at U.S Security Associates. After working there for two weeks she was promoted to first shift Supervisor. She also received an increase in her salary. Angella no longer receives Temporary Families Assistance (TFA) and is very happy to be able to provide for her family on her own.
