A workforce development pilot partnership between Capital Workforce Partners (CWP) and Asnuntuck Community College (ACC) will result in American Job Center (AJC) services being offered at Asnuntuck’s campus, 170 Elm Street as of February 20th, 2018.

The Enfield Street site will close on February 6. Residents seeking services are encouraged to visit any of the American Job Centers in the North Central Connecticut region:

Hartford American Job Center, 3580 Main Street (full-service office)
Hartford Public Library, 500 Main Street (affiliate office)
Manchester American Job Center, 893 Main Street (affiliate office)
New Britain American Job Center, 260 Lafayette Street (affiliate office)

This workforce development pilot partnership is expected to provide a synergistic opportunity to serve mutual employers and job seeker customers at a facility offering a full complement of workforce development and educational services.  In working to close the state’s skills gap, Alex Johnson, President and CEO of Capital Workforce Partner, expressed “our goal is to help businesses find, retain and grow talent, which will be greatly enhanced by this special partnership with Asnuntuck Community College.”

The Enfield American Job Center will continue its partnership with the Department of Labor (DOL), Department of Rehabilitation Services (DORS) and other AJC service providers.  The Center will be located at ACC’s main campus location at 170 Elm Street, and will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and will include enhanced career development opportunities, increased job training capacity and improved access to an array of the college facilities and employment services, including workshops and career assistance. The pilot will build on CWP workforce development sector partnership work with the college on supporting healthcare and manufacturing employers with a quality workforce.
