February 27, 2008 - Building a Competitive Talent Pipeline- was one of the topics at this CT Business & Industry Assoc. sponsored workforce symposium. Capital Workforce Partners Pres. & CEO, Thomas Phillips, led a panel of insurance and manufacturing leaders uncovering issues and suggesting solutions.

September 13, 2007 - Career Fair Established for Company Closing - Due to changes in technology, East Hartford-based Qualex is closing its doors. But not without the help of CTWorks. Business Services Consultant, Matthew Ruminski of CBIA, along with partners at the Department of Labor and Capital Workforce Partners helped to set
up a Career Fair for all Qualex employees. Attending at the on-site career fair were companies like Flanagan Industries and DST Output as well as training facilities and educational institutions to help employees get the training they need to successfully transition to other tecnnology-based regional companies. It's a win / win for everyone. In the photo - are Matt Ruminiski - Business Services Consultant, CT Business and Industry Association and Frank Gulluni who heads up the Manufacturing training at Asnuntuck Community College.

Winners - Capital Workforce Partners Takes
the National Stage - Capital Workforce Partners received the U.S. Department of Labor’s Recognition of Excellence award for its submission – “Ready, Aim, Hire – A Business Service Delivery System for North Central Connecticut. The award was presented July 18th at the national 2007 Workforce Innovations Conference in Kansas City, MO before some 3,700 attendees.
