Chief Financial Officer - CFO
Capital Workforce Partners (CWP) a non-profit, workforce investment board serving 37 municipalities in North Central Connecticut, is seeking an experienced finance, budget, and accounting professional to direct finance activities, including budget management, accounting practices, and administration of the Finance Department. The CFO will report to the President and CEO, and provides oversight and coordination of a variety of complex financial management functions related to state and federal employment and training grants. This position is responsible for the company’s financial plans and policies, accounting practices, oversight of contracts with vendors and service providers, supervision of the accounting staff, maintenance of its fiscal records and the preparation of all financial statements and reports. The CFO will manage all general accounting and various administrative responsibilities, including but not limited to accounts payable and receivables, internal auditing, budgetary controls, financial forecasts, payroll, and coordination of employee benefits. In addition, this position is responsible for the direction of the Information Technology and Facilities department.
The candidate must possess a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field, and have a minimum of ten years experience in accounting and budget management in the non-profit or government sectors. CPA, CMA and/or MBA required. The candidate must have hands-on experience with accounting computer applications, demonstrated knowledge and experience of Federal OMB circulars, and be familiar with current trends and developments in federal, state, and local accounting laws. An understanding of Workforce Investment Act and DOL policies and procedures is a plus. The ideal candidate must possess excellent supervisory and managerial skills, be able to effectively interact with staff at all levels of the organization, and members of the Finance Committee. Candidate must also be a self-starter, capable of handling changing and multiple priorities, and willing to work hard as a member of a high energy, results- oriented team.
