Capital Workforce Partners has published its Occupational Insights Report for the past three years. The report is designed to provide an overview of industry and occupational growth, and online job postings, in Hartford County.
From the inception of the report in 2013, Healthcare has consistently been the highest growing of the industry sectors. In the current report, this trend continues with a growth projection of just over 8,000 jobs through 2020.
Manufacturing is a major economic driver in the region and employs over 50,000 in Hartford County. It also employs some of the oldest workers aged 55+, particularly Tool and Die Makers and Machinists.
Construction has rebounded since the end of the recession when it lost over 5,000 jobs from 2007 to 2010. It has regained 11.7% of those jobs since then and is projected to continue to grow.
